The Mozilla community discovered a crash some of our users have been seeing at startup after updates to our previous releases. To fix that issue, SeaMonkey 2.0.8 is now available for Windows, Mac, and Linux as a free download from www.seamonkey-project.org.
We strongly recommend that all SeaMonkey and old suite users upgrade to this latest release. If you already have SeaMonkey 2.0, you will receive an automated update notification within 24 to 48 hours. This update can also be applied manually by selecting “Check for Updates…” from the Help menu.
For a list of changes and more information, please review the SeaMonkey 2.0.8 Release Notes.
Note: All users of the outdated SeaMonkey 1.x, Mozilla or Netscape suites are encouraged to upgrade to SeaMonkey 2.0 by downloading it from www.seamonkey-project.org.

I have installed version 2.0.8 but the following still appears at startup –
————————————————
Warning! You’re using an old stable version of SeaMonkey (1.1.17), while we offer a newer version which contains important security fixes.
We encourage you to download the newer version linked in the download box at the right to be safe from known vulnerabilities and be able to use the newest features in a stable SeaMonkey release.
If you get this message despite having installed SeaMonkey 2.0.8 already, you might want to try resetting your user agent string to the default
———————————————–
However when I look for general.useragent, it isn’t there. Lots of subsets of general.useragent but not one on its own.
My operating system is Linux Ubuntu 9.10 and I’m not particularly computer literate and I’m probably posting this in the wrong place
I installed the new 2.08 and now it doesn’t work at all! Appears to install ok, but when I double click on the icon, nothing happens.
I’m using Win 7.
Hallo,
es ist ein wirklich schönes vorhaben ein Browser mit einem Mailprogramm zu kombinieren. Aber meiner Meinung nach ist die Software noch nicht ausgereift genug! Bin mal gespannt was die Zukunft bringt.
Es wäre schön, wenn über die Sidebar zwischen Mail-Client und Webbrowser gewechselt werden kann. In Tabs! und nicht in neuen Fenstern. Und wenn ihr richtig einen draufhauen wollt integriert noch Trillian 😉
Sonst toi toi toi
