Tears of joy…

Hi All..

My goodness.

2.46 has finally been released! <or insert in your mind as many ! as you want>

It has been a painful and arduous journey and it has finally come to this moment.  SeaMonkey 2.46 IS OUT!

Please do check it out and report any badness (the bad badness… not the good badness..if such things exist) that happens.

Oh one more thing that I might have forgotten to mention.

SeaMonkey 2.46 is out!  ;P

Seriously though…  I do have one nagging feeling that updating for Windows 64 bit users *might* have an issue.  If so, please post here or on the newsgroups and I’ll fix it.

My goodness….  I think I’m going to cry.

Great job, but …. where can it be downloaded from?

  2. Mikey says:

Any possibility of a 2.45 release for Mac that will work on 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. 2.46 crashes when run. In the Info.plist file LSMinimumSystemVersion is 10.6.0, but the .dmg is about 20MB smaller than usual. Something is not right.

  3. Frank-Rainer Grahl says:

The website has not been updated yet.
    You can find it at:
    https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/seamonkey/releases/2.46/

  4. daniel says:

    finally you did it.

but the Seamonkey Homepage(s) still links to SM 2.40 and not SM 2.46

  5. daniel says:

    oh very ugly and incomplete.

you need to follow the release notes to get to the new SM 2.46 download page:
    http://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/2.46

ewong – please update the links in the main SM page.

      “… see [Bug 1325353] New: Main page still shows SeaMonkey 2.40 as latest Release …” –Rainer Bielefeld’s Thu, 22 Dec 2016 14:25:59 +0100 mozilla.dev.apps.seamonkey & mozilla.support.seamonkey newsgroup post

  6. daniel says:

SM 2.40 check for updates does not found any update.

should it work or not due to changed build infrastructure?

  7. daniel says:

    SM 2.40 32bit , buildnumber 20160120202951
    Windows 7 64-bit

check for update does not find SM 2.46

    BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO!
And just in time for Christmas! BIG KUDOS to ALL at the SeaMonkey council to keep our beloved browser going. 😀

  9. dilworks says:

    Awesome!

Worth the wait, at least. The unofficial builds were Good Enoguh™, but official is always best.

Just a question: where are the official Win64 builds? I just want to ditch Win32 forever, really – we’re in 2016, 2017 in less than two weeks. Or are they coming (this time for real) for 2.47?

  10. John Duncan says:

Thanks so much for all of your hard work, Edmund!! Same goes to the rest of the SM team; great release. Particularly like the new js dev console ported over from the Firefox team. It’s definitely a bit more streamlined than the DOM inspector..

  11. Chris says:

Thank’s a lot to everyone at Seamonkey, what a Christmas gift!!

    See you next year

  12. Rene Kraus says:

Thanks to Edmund and the Seamonkey-Team for everything! To continue the work on the best browser at all! Also this version works perfect (here on WinXP and 7). All the best!!!

  13. Congratulations to everyone who contributed to getting this release done, and special thanks to you, ewong, for the great efforts you put into getting it actually built and out the door!

  14. SM001 says:

Thank you for all your efforts ! 🙂

  15. BillT52 says:

Thanks ewong for all your hard work to get the build process updated and run. Hopefully Mozilla won’t have time to make any more changes before you’re ready to run the next production build. Again, thanks to you and all the others on the project for staying with my favorite suite.

  16. Theo says:

Thank you so much for your work!

Is the donating info on http://www.seamonkey-project.org/donate/ still valid?

  17. Heiko says:

There is an issue with Lightning in Seamonkey 2.46. When I receive an invitation, I cannot accept it and add it to my calendar as the button is just showing an arrow and no selection is possible. Any idea?

  18. Federico Tomasello says:

Thank you and everyone involved for keeping semonkey alive!!!

  19. Friessen says:

Futile or not, here’s another voice/vote for a version that will work on Snow Leopard (10.6.8). Or if someone can figure out how to band-aid or kludge it to work, that would be great.

  20. F Murtz says:

I have a problem which has not been addressed at usenet group ” mozzilla.support .seamonkey” under the heading” further to seamonkey and google” from F Murtz. People in the usenet group aus.computers under “Any one have an answer” have also found the same problems.
Where can I go for answers as nothing ever comes from “mozzilla.support .seamonkey” from my questions.
