SeaMonkey 2.53.10.2 is out!

Hi,

Firstly, on behalf of the SeaMonkey Project, I’d like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Prosperous and Healthy New Year.

Secondly, and the main reason for this post,  the SeaMonkey Project is pleased to announce the release of SeaMonkey 2.53.10.2.

Please check out [1] and [2].

Finally, a humble apology to all affected by my goofup.  I had enabled the updates before the actual files were available which confused a lot of people.  My apologies for the confusion.  I had some trouble with this release as I made some changes which didn’t work out and while this wasn’t the reason for the update gaff, it delayed the release.

Best Regards,

It seems more and more sites don’t work with Seamonkey anymore. Bitchute and LinkedIn don’t work. I can’t log into my bank either for over a year with Seamonkey but no one seems to care.

Thanks a lot, Happy new year!

Just installed and it’s working fine. Luckily the sites I am visiting are working without problems with SeaMonkey.
Wishing all a Happy New Year!

@D A: On some sites it might help to change the user agent, e.g. replacing it with that of a Firefox version. This can be done on a site specific level by “general.useragent.override.[site_address]”, see http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=2647781 .

@ewong: I also wish you (and all other readers) a Happy New Year. Thank you very much for your continuous good work and your modest attitude. Even if not all is always running smoothly and for some sites I rather use a second browser in parallel, on the whole Seamonkey is by far my favourite browser since more than a decade and I know that we owe this mainly to you and few other developers who try to keep pace with the many changes of Gecko and Firefox. In particular I like that Seamonkey is quite stable in terms of design and options, very much in contrast to Firefox where many options in about:config and elsewhere (e.g. “blank page when opening new tab” and “one close button for all tabs”) have disappeared completely and now need an addon if I want to get them back.

Hi, I’ve been a user since the original Netscape days…. yes, I’m old!!!!
I’ve recently upgraded to Windows 11 and have installed this latest version of SM.
I’m unable to work out how to add a desk top shortcut for Seamonkey Mail.
Is there a work around for this please?
    Thanks, Bill
