Happy New Year!.. well.. nearly

Hi everyone!

On behalf the SeaMonkey Project, I’d like to wish everyone a Happy, Healthy, Safe and Prosperous New Year!

The past year has been, like the year before and the year before that, quite challenging for all.   I had hoped to write an essay on this here; but it’s safe to say, it’s not really necessary.

So all in all, I personally would like to wish everyone a Happy, Healthy, and Safe New Year.  I hope this coming year will be an improvement over the past few and that the crazy conflicts around the world and in our society will lessen.  This world really doesn’t need additional strife.  The pandemic is enough to drive everyone mad.

To my fellow SeaMonkey devs, I’ll strive even harder to get my stuff together.  The infrastructure should’ve been ready eons ago.  I apologize for the delay.

Best Regards,

:ewong

ewong – thank you so much for keeping seamonkey alive.

while it’s easy to beat yourself up with “I should have, could have, etc” and maybe you have a touch of a problem I also have, where i’ll mentally flog myself for fear of falling into some sort of complacency…

but I just wanted to point out, that even if some some reason you decided or something happened where you stopped developing seamonkey this instant – realize that’s you’ve done more for this old project than i think anyone would have reasonably expected.

I guess I just wanted to be clear that all of the effort you’ve put in already will always be appreciated and remembered – no matter what happens. you don’t “owe” us anything, at least not to the point of beating yourself up about it =)

back when seamonkey basically got “dumped” by mozilla around 2015 ish? i never expected to see it still alive here approaching 2022. So i will alway be thankful for you keeping the ‘ol beast alive, and even current!

Again thanks and here’s to hopefully more releases in the future. just don’t burn yourself out stressing that about thinking us users will somehow be disappoint in you for not meeting some sort of deadline! honest, we’re not I don’t think? =)
